Nach dem Ignite Frontman Zoli Teglas erst als "Fill In Vocalist" bekannt gegeben wurde, verkünden die South Bay Punk Pioniere Pennywise jetzt, dass Teglas als fester Sänger in der Band aufgenommen wurde.
Als langjähriger Freund der Band, ist Zoli schon mehrmals mit der Band live aufgetreten. Erstmals wird der nun offizielle Pennywise Sänger auf der kommenden Europatour ab April diesen Jahres mit der Band im Rücken zu sehen sein.
Bassist Randy Bradbury erklärt: “What started out as a temporary position was just too good to put an end to. Zoli brings to the table a tremendous vocal ability, creativity, and a die hard work ethic. There is a bond that makes this change feel like it was simply meant to be, and considering the recent unfortunate events, having Zoli join the band is a well needed shot of positive energy.”
Und Zoli meint: "I'm stoked to be singing with Pennywise. I'm a huge fan of the band and am super grateful to share the stage with my long time friends Fletcher, Byron and Randy."
Ist das nun doch das Ende von Ignite. Nein. Denn 2010 Live Daten stehen bereits fest. Zumindest nach der Ankündigung als Sänger für die European Tour von Pennywise, wurde auf der Ignite Homepage folgendes Statement veröffentlicht.
The non-IGNITE news. Many of you know that Zoli has been filling in on the vocal duties for Pennywise since their longtime singer Jim Lindberg left the band a few months ago. Well, Zoli will be joining Pennywise on their month long European tour starting at the Groezrock Festival in Belgium on April 24th. We are very excited for Zoli and this great opportunity for him to sing in one of the greatest punk bands of all time! Dont worry IGNITE fans, Zoli is not quitting IGNITE and we are not breaking up either, we will continue to write, record and tour with IGNITE as long as our fans want us to continue!
